Is Having A Burning Desire Enough To Achieve Success

Is a burning desire enough to achieve the success you want in life?

Burning desire is the reason why you want to achieve your goals.

It is the strength that will take you over, under or around obstacles that will inevitably come your way each and every time point yourself in a new direction.

Successful people do not become successful by sitting around watching television and doing nothing. They become successful by taking action.

The simple act of taking action will often bring to the person obstacles and challenges which must be overcome in order to successfully complete their goals.

For the most part, our burning desire can help us to overcome those obstacles, but is a burning desire really all we need?

The answer to that question is hotly debated in the personal development circles.

Some believe that burning desire, when continually fed, will be enough to enable a person to find the solutions needed to overcome challenges.  Others believe that individuals need more than a burning desire to continue on their path to success.

The debate really centers around the question of when people have a desire to have a specific thing, say wealth, and believe that their desire is strong and yet they still have not achieved success.

How is it then that some say burning desire is enough and others say it isn’t.

Instead the naysayers believe that the key to success is not only a burning desire but also a vision.

However, those who believe that a burning desire is enough to get people past the challenges and obstacles in life, also believe that their burning desire is fed by consistent visualization of the ultimate goal.

By incorporating a vision of the future into the reality of today you are exhibiting characteristics of leadership.

By being able to spell out a compelling vision that you desire to be your reality, and being able to communicate that vision to the people in your company, virtual assistants or spouse, you are exhibiting the characteristics of a leader with a burning desire.

Sometimes when burning desire is not enough it means you picked the wrong goal.

There are times when it is obvious that you are not focusing on the goals that is right for your life but there are other times when it isn’t.

If you focus on the wrong goal you don’t produce a burning desire to achieve it and so you cannot blame burning desire, or lack thereof, on the lack of success in achieving that goal.

For instance, your parents want you to become a doctor and you are fairly talented in the field of biology, math and sciences.  However, you don’t want to be a doctor you want to be a physical therapist.

In order not to disappoint your parents you attempt to go to medical school. Even though you have the intelligence and knowledge to receive high marks in your classes you don’t because your desire is not to achieve the goal which is laid out by your parents in which you agreed to, but rather another goal.  Is the reason for your failure to get into medical school a lack of burning desire or just the wrong goal?

Another reason that people can fail at achieving their goals is because they don’t believe that they can achieve them.

So while they have a burning desire that may be strong enough to get them past the challenges in life they don’t believe in their heart of hearts that they are capable of achieving it.

This situation doesn’t pertain to people who want to become the next Michael Jordan, but rather those who want to achieve a goal which is achievable by most individual’s standards.

For instance, someone who joins in network marketing company and dreams of developing their customer base to a point where most of their bills are paid every month will not achieve that goal if they do not believe that they are capable of sharing information about their company.

They may have a burning desire to achieve their goal.  They may love their network marketing company.  They may not have the skills presently but may know the people who can teach them the necessary skills.  But they don’t believe that they can do it themselves and therefore will never be successful.

We all have the ability to visualize our goals and achieve them.

If you learn to read and can read this then you can do it.  The difference will be in those individuals who self perception, self image and belief in themselves is so negative that they don’t believe they can achieve.

It is important to enjoy the process of getting to your goal by improving your own self-worth and self perception.

Through this process you have the ability to make significant changes in your lifestyle and your life that will change the way you see how the world works.
